Position Summary

The Community Outreach Coordinator will play a critical role in expanding JoyDew's reach by increasing awareness of our programs and building strong community relationships. This position is ideal for someone with experience in community engagement, partnership development, relationship management, referral development, public speaking, networking, lead generation, and community relations. Working under the Vice President of Operations, the Community Outreach Coordinator will represent JoyDew throughout the community, cultivate strategic partnerships, and help connect adults with autism and their families to our services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Outreach &Engagement
• Execute outreach strategies that increase awareness, referrals, and participation in JoyDew programs through community engagement initiatives.
• Represent JoyDew at networking events, conferences, workshops, resource fairs, and community meetings.
• Coordinate presentations, webinars, and educational events for families, referral partners, and community organizations.
• Promote JoyDew's services through relationship management, public speaking, networking, and lead generation activities.Partnership Building
• Build and maintain relationships with local schools, healthcare providers, hospitals, nonprofit organizations, advocacy groups, businesses, and community leaders.
• Develop strategic partnerships that increase referrals and expand community awareness.
• Identify and cultivate new referral sources while strengthening existing community partnerships.
• Coordinate volunteer initiatives and community involvement activities that strengthen JoyDew's community presence.

• Other duties
• Assist the Vice President of Operations with scheduling meetings and site visits.
• Maintain outreach activity records and assist with CRM tracking (i.e. HubSpot) as appropriate.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Mustbe18yearsofageor older.
• Must pass state mandated background checks and drug screening.
• Must take and pass all training required by NJ Department of the Developmentally Disabled.
• Bachelor's degree in social work, education, human services, communications, marketing, public relations, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in community outreach, engagement, enrollment coordination, community relations, nonprofit outreach, healthcare outreach, partnership development, or business development preferred.
• Passion for working with individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
• Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, communication, organizational, and public speaking skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple community relationships and outreach activities.
• Experience using Microsoft Office; familiarity with CRM systems such as HubSpot is a plus.
• Familiarity with Livingston area organizations and referral resources is a plus.
• Resourceful, proactive, and self-motivated.

At JoyDew our coaching and support staff play a multi-faceted role as job coaches, trainers, and educators for our adult members who have autism. We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team to provide guidance and support to our members in the day-to-day programing at our dedicated career center for adults with autism.

All coaching, support and teaching staff are provided with extensive training. Experience working with an autistic population is NOT required. Candidates in any field who are interested in working with individuals with special needs are encouraged to apply.

Compensation:$37,000-$47,000 per year, Full-time Monday to Friday.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Starting annual salary $37,000-$47,000*, full-time Monday to Friday.
• Medical and dental insurance (Employee contribution for single coverage is currently $75 per month).
• Major federal holidays, according to the company calendar.
• 10 Vacation days and 5 sick/personal days per year.
• 403 B retirement plan.
• Paid training.

*Additional compensation for American Sign Language Interpreter Services for staff who have successfully passed the New Jersey Division of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DDHH) Screening -OR- are Certified by the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf

Responsibilities:

• Coaching, support, and teaching staff report directly to the Program Director and:
• Directly support our members with all activities throughout the day.
• Assist in developing, planning, teaching, and reporting on educational enrichment and job training classes with members.
• Maintain involvement, community, and safety.
• Work directly with members to facilitate participation and communication.
• Exemplify all rules, regulations, and policies set forth by the program.
• Assisting with all aspects of the program and other activities

Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must pass state mandated background checks and drug screening.
• Must take and pass all training required by NJ Department of the Developmentally Disabled.
• Must have an interest in and be comfortable working with the special needs community.
• Must have strong communication skills and experience working on a team.
• Must be computer proficient in a Microsoft environment.
• Bachelor's Degree a plus
• Experience working with young adults with AUTISM a plus.
