Gil is the sun

Gil Tov

The sun is the thing that drained me. I was on vacation and it was very hot weather. I do not like the way too much sun can feel. My skin is gentle. I am very tired. It can feel like I can heat up like a toaster. I can protect myself but it is not about sun protection. It is about the draining feeling. I take breaks in the shade or go inside for cool air. When I go inside, I restore my energy by connecting my body and thoughts.

My name is Gil. I am unable to speak but I am a great typer. I have autism but it doesn’t mean that I am not smart. I want to become a radiology assistant and a journalist. Please join us at JoyDew, the more friends the better!

About JoyDew

JoyDew transforms the brutal reality of people with autism from being treated as a commodity, living in isolation and without hope, into flourishing human beings with lifelong friends, who can express themselves and apply their unique talents and skills to succeed in the workplace. Our day program identifies their unique strengths and interests, develops them with job training and academic enrichment, provides communication and other supports, and creates high-level employment for people with autism, without exception, where they can learn and grow in a community of their own, and unleash their hopes and dreams.
