Ridgewood, NJ – An autism foundation focused on employing adults on the spectrum has received a $4,000 grant from FirstBank Charitable Foundation (FBCF). JoyDew plans to use the funds for technology purposes as it continues its expansion in Ridgewood and opens a new location in Livingston, NJ in May.
“We applaud your dedication and hard work”, says Karen Walter, SVP and Dir. Community Development & Charitable Giving at FBCF. “Your efforts have a huge impact on our communities and we’re happy to be your partner in these efforts.”
“We are so grateful to FBCF for these funds, and especially for their support of our mission”, says Moish Tov, CEO of JoyDew Foundation. “Many of the individuals we serve have exceptional gifts that we help them leverage for high value employment in a variety of 21st Century jobs. We need partners who believe in them, and in JoyDew’s unique approach to unleash their strengths for the benefit of these adults with ASD, their families, employers, and society at large.”
JoyDew’s day program works with people on all parts of the spectrum, including the non-speaking. The company identifies their unique strengths and interests, develops them with job training and academic enrichment, and creates high-level employment in a community of their own where they have the physical, communication and other supports they need to succeed and unleash their hopes and dreams.
FBCF has just surpassed 1 million dollars in giving through grants and sponsorships to nonprofit organizations serving tens of thousands of individuals in the First Bank communities in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Florida. The organization focuses on building partnerships with charitable organizations to support their positive impacts on the essential needs within the neighborhoods they serve.
